More than a thousand bills are filed in the Legislature each year. Many have a significant impact on individual rights.

The NHCLU provides testimony on proposed bills that threatens civil liberties, and on bills that strengthen the protections of the Bill of Rights. Our efforts are intended to educate legislators on constitutional issues, curtailment of individual freedoms, violations of individual privacy and the impact increasing severity of criminal sanctions has on the lives of individuals and on the treasury of the state.

The NHCLU often stands alone in its defense of the civil liberties that impact the daily lives of every citizen. None of us is protected unless all of us are protected.
